A member of the Spitz type breeds and conforming to many of the type's characteristics such as. They were initially bred as a herding dog and are still used as such. They've recently found new roles as sniffer dogs and guard dogs.
Character//
Active, vigilant and full of energy, they have retained a strong working instinct. Buhunds are highly trainable and will bond closely with their family, displaying an excellent temperament with children. They thrive when kept as a member of the family and will not enjoy living outdoors.
Size//
The Breed Standard specifies and ideal height of 45cm and a weight in proportion to their size.
Health//
A low incidence of inherited disorders in the breed, they are generally healthy provided they are adequately cared for and exercised.
Special Care//
They love to work and to be involved in activities with their family so try getting involved with agility trials or fly ball to keep them stimulated and exercised.
