A small breed, Norfolk Terriers was originally used to clear vermin out of barns and haylofts. Norfolk Terriers are increasingly popular due to their portability and suitability to urban life. They do retain their terrier instincts and will dig and chase all day if the opportunity exists.
Character//
The Breed Standard describes them as a 'demon' for their size and possessing a 'loveable disposition, not quarrelsome.' They are robust and alert, giving warning of strangers. The Norfolk Terrier thrives on human contact and loves playing.
Size//
The Breed Standard specifies a height at the withers of 25cm.
Health//
There are no serious health concerns with the breed, although they may be prone to heart and skin conditions. The life expectancy is 12-16 years.
Special Care//
The Norfolk Terrier will make an excellent choice for those living in apartments although be aware that if they are restricted in regards to their exercise they may put on excessive weight.
