A close companion and hunt-point-retrieve breed blessed with an excellent nose, equally happy tracking game across land and water. The Munsterlander is both elegant and practical, in fact top show Munsterlanders are regularly working dogs indicating what a wonderfully versatile breed they are.
Character//
Incredibly loyal and affectionate, a Munsterlander will love to work, play and rest close to you. They are great with children although do be aware that they can be quite boisterous and excited. Keeping a Munsterlander quiet will require dedicated training, although they are keen to please and should learn quite easily.
Size//
Dogs should measure 60-65cm and bitches 58-63cm.
Health//
There are few reported common ailments of concern with the breed, just be sure to take care whilst exercising a young puppy as they can develop Hip Dysplasia.
Special Care//
A Munsterlander doesn't enjoy being left on their own for any great length of time, ideally they should be engaged with some member of their family for the vast majority of the day.
