The 'Min Pin' is an elegant little dog, active and curious in character. Often thought of as a descendant of the Doberman Pinscher, the Miniature is in fact the older of the two breeds. They were traditionally bred as ratters where they would use their powerful jaws to snap up any vermin they caught. Now a desirable companion breed.
Character//
Courageous and playful with an inquisitive nature, Min Pins are also useful as guard dogs as their senses are incredibly acute. They are a fairly high-strung breed and need calm and patient socialization and training but once the routine is set they are generally good learners. Happy with children as well provided the play does not get too boisterous. The Miniature Pinscher values their own personal space.
Size//
The Miniature Pinscher should measure between 25-30cm and weigh only 2-4kg.
Health//
A healthy breed free from major disorders although take care not to over-feed the dog.
Special Care//
Min Pin's can be quite territorial and curious, a combination that can cause some to become possessive and even aggressive so be sure to establish the position of the dog in the house.Remember! All breed profiles are general and every dog is an individual.
