Known as the Little Lion Dog due to the preferred cut of their coat, the Lowchen was at one point officially the rarest breed in the world. Now happily increasing in popularity this happy and lively dog has proved itself as a wonderful companion and tough little watchdog.

Full of energy and enthusiasm, the Lowchen is affectionate and merry with a gentle temperament toward children.

The Breed Standard specifies a height of 25-33cm.

Good, there are no reported major hereditary disorders in the breed.
