Lakeland Terriers were bred to hunt and kill foxes and vermin around the farms of the Lake District and have been bred for tenacity and courage as well as the ability to pursue their quarry independently of their master's control.
Character//
A lively and obstinate dog, they will be wary of strangers and protective of his flock and territory but form strong, close bonds with their family.
Size//
Breed Standard states that the Lakeland terrier should measure no more than 37cm at the shoulder, with a weight of 8kg for dogs and 7kg for bitches.
Health//
There are no major conditions that afflict this breed.
