Bred in its native Hungary to protect flocks from the danger of wolf attack, the Komondor is a large, athletic breed with a commanding presence that makes an excellent family companion.
Character//
Independent and intelligent as all good working stock should be, the Komondor is an excellent guard dog and will protect its territory with vigour.
Size//
The Breed Standard for the Komondor states that dogs should measure on average 80cm with bitches around 70cm.
Health//
In general the Komondor does not suffer from many serious conditions although it is susceptible to other large breed issues such as Hip Dysplasia and Bloat.
Special Care//
Little beyond keeping a close eye out for any skin conditions, ticks and fleas could hide themselves quite easily under their coat.
