This extremely handsome dog is affectionate and loyal. These dogs have great stamina and courage and would make an excellent hunting dog. They have a dignified and aristocratic bearing that sets them apart from other breeds and were once known as a "Gift of Kings" They are extremely intelligent and have an exceptionally good disposition.
Character//
The Breed Standard describes the Vizsla as "Lively, intelligent, obedient, sensitive." They are also extremely affectionate and develop a close bond and protective streak towards their family. They thrive on human companionship.
Size//
The Breed Standard states dogs should be 57-64 cm and bitches 53-60 cm. Weight: 20-30 kg.
Health//
Future health issues are likely to be Hip & Elbow Dysplasia, epilepsy, infertility, auto-immune deficiency and eye conditions.
Special Care//
When grooming pay extra attention to the eyes so to spot any developing eye conditions. Claws need to be clipped on a regular basis.
