Also known as the Hungarian Water Dog, the Puli is identified by its corded coat. An ancient herding breed who travelled across the expanse of Central Asia with the Magyars, a tribe of nomadic Huns.

Character//

A wonderful companion breed, the Puli is relatively easy to train if you follow a consistent routine, although as a herding breed they do maintain an independent streak. Their temperament is happy and playful but they don't enjoy rough play with children. They will enjoy activities such as agility trials and entering the show ring where they can work in tandem with their master. 

Size//

The Breed Standard specifies a height of 40-44cm for dogs and 37-41cm for bitches. Dogs should weigh 13-15kg, bitches 10-13kg.

Health//

The Hungarian Puli is a healthy breed with no reported disorders. 

Special Care//

The Puli requires little special attention beyond their regular trips to the vet and keeping their eyes and ears clean and clear.
