The German Longhaired Pointer (GLP) is regarded as one of the best hunt, point and retrieve breeds. They are naturally loyal and want to please. Early breed characteristics are not recorded - apart from the qualities as a working dog. By the mid 1900s their long haired coat had developed, due to bloodlines bred from Spanish fowling dogs alongside English Setters.

GLPs love to hunt and can be headstrong. As young dogs their hunting instinct can be difficult to manage but with training this can be controlled.

GLPs range in height from 58-70cm

GLPs are generally a healthy breed
