A classic terrier, bred as its name suggests, to terrorise foxes by bolting down their holes and flushing them out so that the huntsmen could see their prey. Originally considered to be one and the same as the wire-haired variety, breeders have now tried to develop them as distinct breeds in their own right.
Character//
A keen breed who should be alert and lively in character. Fox Terriers are intelligent and stubborn, classic terrier character traits.
Size//
The Breed Standard does not specify a height but does state that their weight should be between 7-8kg.
Health//
A hardy breed free from any major congenital disorders.
Special Care//
Must be careful when walking off the lead as they will chase small animals they see as prey. They also require firm early socialization to help develop a well balanced character.
