Not actually classified by the Kennel Club as a terrier and instead being seen as a utility breed, the Boston Terrier is incredibly popular in its native Massachusetts
Character//
Despite their name, the Boston Terrier is unlike most other terriers due to selective breeding attempting to mould certain characteristics although individuals may exhibit traits distinct from the norm. Generally entertaining and active, the Boston enjoys human companionship although they can attempt to asset dominance over other male dogs.
Size//
A fully-grown Boston Terrier should measure between 38-43cm and weigh around 4.5-11kg.
Health//
The most common conditions that will affect the Boston Terrier are cataracts and other eye disorders as well as muscular issues arising from an abnormal curving of their back. Their average lifespan is around 13 years.
Special Care//
The Boston Terrier's short muzzle means it doesn't deal with extremes of temperature, especially if exercising in excessive heat.
